Teach-in: Sex and the Left
What exactly do we mean when we talk about sex? And what does it have to do with Marxism and the left?
We are living in the moment of #MeToo and sex positivity—the contradictory world created by feminism, patriarchy, sexual liberation, and of course, politics and the law.
This teach-in and discussion is hosted by the Platypus Affiliated Society and facilitated by American Studies doctoral student Zoya Brumberg. We will delve into the ways that "sex" is addressed in leftism and contemporary society, focusing closely on the history of sexual taboos and how they manifest in the United States today—a time when so many sex acts and identities are deemed acceptable.
